The BrandEx Awards - the creative competition for successful live communication and an integral part of the International Festival of Brand Experience - has opened this year’s awards season. Entries can be submitted immediately via the website Detailed information about the submission procedure is also available on the website.

With the five categories ‘Event’, ‘Architecture’, ‘Crossmedia’, ‘Planning, Craft, Production’ and ‘Fresh’, and several sub-categories, the international BrandEx Awards offer a finely structured range of participation opportunities. This year, a new sub-category for ‘Best Catering’ has been added, while the previous sub-categories ‘Best Craft’ and ‘Best Project Management’ have been subsumed into the ‘Best Craft’ category.

Practical changes have been made to the BrandEx submission process, which now has three phases. In the first phase, the jury conducts a cost-effective screening of the submitted entries - which consist of a brief description and five photos - and rejects projects that are not worthy of an award. Regardless of the decisions of the jury, all entries submitted will be published on the BrandEx website and on social media. The deadline for entry submission is 1 July 2019.

If an entry reaches the second phase, the entrants must then submit a detailed concept guide, a brief text for public relations use, five to ten photos, a video documentation and a poster in DIN A2 format by 16 September 2019. The BrandEx jury will select the three winners in each category from these competition entries by mid-October.

The winners will then be notified in the third phase. The award winners must then submit a montage of their competition entry for the awards ceremony on 14 January 2020. Your benefits: fame and honour on the BrandEx stage, a trophy, 2 certificates, a winner’s logo and a festival ticket for the International Festival of Brand Experience 2020 worth € 700.00.

Together with the BrandEx Fresh Awards 2020, the categories ‘Best Fresh Juniors’ and ‘Best Fresh Students’ have been launched. Participants in BrandEx Fresh will develop a cross-channel live campaign for a real-world brand based on a defined set of tasks. The deadline for entry submission is 30 September 2019. Participation is free of charge.

The competition documents and forms are available on the website at, which must be used for registration and submissions. The BrandEx jury will select the best concepts from all the entries for the glamorous awards ceremony on the evening of 14 January 2020, which takes place as part of the International Festival of Brand Experience in Dortmund. The overarching theme of the BrandEx Festival 2020: ‘02 | Passion’.
